There
are several ways you can get involved with the
effort to Save Organic Food.
1)
Join
the Save Organic Food coalition. Membership
in the Save Organic Food coalition is FREE! Membership
is open to all consumers, organizations, businesses
and farmers. If you desire, you can choose to
be publicly
listed on our online Coalition
Member web page. You can also request to receive
our periodic e-mail newsletters.
2)
Send an instant e-mail
or print out a letter to send to your Congressman
or Congresswoman in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ask your Congressional Representative to put pressure
on the House Agriculture Committee to hold hearings
on the contamination of organic crops by genetically
engineered crops. The
problem is particularly significant when it comes
to organic corn.
3)
Send instant e-mails
or print out letters to send to your two U.S.
Senators in Washington, DC. Ask your two U.S.
Senators to put pressure on the Senate Agriculture
committee to hold these hearings on the contamination
of organic crops. We want the USDA called "on
the carpet" and asked why they are letting
this contamination to continue when their is ample
evidence it is happening.
4)
Send an instant e-mail
to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The USDA is ignoring the fact that organic crops
are being contaminated from cross-pollination
by genetically engineered crops. Let the USDA
know that this is unacceptable.
5)
Tell your friends about
the Save Organic Food web site and invite them
to send e-mail Action Alerts. If you go to
the Tell Your Friends web page, you can quickly
tell up to eight friends at once.
6)
Make a donation. It is
only through the kindness of our supporters that
we are able to run this effort to Save Organic
Food and work towards labeling genetically engineered
foods. Please donate today!
